Case management in law offices often refers to managing the workflow for developing the firm’s cases. We address that problem, too. As it happens, we use a case management program called Clio. But at Fleming & Curti, PLC, case management usually refers to what might be called care management.
We are unusual among law firms. We act as fiduciary. Sometimes that means we are personal representative in a probate matter. Sometimes it means that we are conservator (of an estate) or guardian (of a person). Or we are trustee, managing assets for the benefit of a beneficiary (who might, but doesn’t necessarily, have a disability). We might even be acting under a financial or health care power of attorney.
In all of those cases, we are responsible for decisions that affect the care and support of real people, living in the real world. To us case management usually means “care management”.
